Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. — 2 Corinthians 5:17
It seems that every so often, I must lose sight of this new creation business, because I hunt to recreate aspects of my life. One of these aspects is the very website you now read, Thisisjacob.com. Named for Psalm 24:6, the site has done little good as of yet other than host small ambitions of mine.
But my dream is to make it mean something. Just like my life, I want my website to be in Christ and a new creation that proclaims and shares Him in valuable ways to the masses.
So I’ve been toying with this idea of a Christian content hub. A place where content can be shared. Where art, music, thought, and life can be shared and articulated. And the best way I could come up with was a network of blogs.
Right now, I have some archived devotionals I’ve written at http://thisisjacob.com/deitrichdevotionals/, and the musings of my ministry partner and girlfriend Carolyn at http://thisisjacob.com/consider-the-whispers/. Coming soon, a blog about worship songwriting will be up at http://thisisjacob.com/thirdverseaftermath/.
I’m approaching this blog with the hope of collecting these and other blogs in one convenient portal, as well as collecting various thoughts and media from around the Internet. I’m glad you’ve decided to join this experience, and encourage you to read deeply into the work on the This is Jacob network sites of your choosing and let the words and arts and the Spirit of God impact you. Maybe you will join someday and produce content with us as well. I’m willing to believe that the Church can have much more impact the more the Christ-filled, Christ-centered life is lived in each of us, and my humble part in this, I hope, is to encourage you to be more Christ-filled and Christ-centered.
Blessings,
-Zachariah
